Dear School Board Faculty and Staff, Parents, Students and Community Members:

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! This year you will see many new and exciting changes; some of which are already being implemented at the school level, and some yet to come. As we enter this school year, let us work together as a team to face the daily challenges with confidence, creativity and hard work. I ask for your continued support as we move toward more rigorous standards and clear and meaningful accountability measures so our students will excel in the challenges that face them each day. Student Success is number one and with the support of everyone involved, we will accomplish our goal; to instill pride and self-confidence in our children as we dare to become an A school district. As the saying goes, it really does take a whole village to raise a child, and I believe in working together we will achieve!

I ask our parents to continue to be involved in school activities and events. Share these experiences with your children. They will thank you for it in the years to come. Take the time to recognize the most important person in your child’s education, future, and life is yourself. The ultimate responsibility of, and the most significant impact upon, raising and educating a child, belongs to the parent.

Teachers, make each student your own. It is your time and effort that sets the foundation for a happy childhood, a bright future for our young, and becoming productive citizens. Infuse your students with inspiration, vision and a curiosity for learning.

I look forward to a powerful year of learning, expressing, absorbing, discovering and understanding. Here’s to you, the student. May you reach every goal you desire and become the best you can be in every aspect of life!!!

 Karyn E. Gary, Superintendent
